$800K in Staff, Program, Security Upgrades Coming to Schools
Positions listed as 'critical' enhancements in 2013-14 budget.

More than $800,000 in critical enhancements are included in the school district's 2013-14 budget.
The Board of Education approved the $141 million budget, which includes a $130.4 million tax levy, 8-1 Wednesday night. Trustee Michael Bubba cast the lone dissenting vote. The average homeowner's school taxes will increase $164.
"The 2013-2014 budget reaffirms Wayne Township Public Schools' commitment to key goals in the areas of student performance, communications, operations and technology," district officials said in a statement released Wednesday night.

"Funds will be focused on continued refinement of curriculum enhancements begun this year, full implementation of the new, state-mandated educator evaluation system, and upgrades to select elements of district security."
