Election Day In Wayne: When, Where To Vote
The general election is on Nov. 2. Check out our voter guide before you cast your ballot.

WAYNE, NJ — The general election is only weeks away, and Wayne residents will be able to cast their votes on several state and local races.
This year, there are three ways to vote, and a number of decisions to make, including an election for governor.

- Governor's race: Gov. Murphy is running for re-election this year against Republican Jack Ciattarelli, Madelyn Hoffman (Green Party), Gregg Mele (Libertarian) and Joanne Kuniansky (Socialist Workers Party).
- State Senate: In New Jersey's 40th District, incumbent Republican Kristin Corrado will face Democrat Michael Sedon.
- General Assembly: In New Jersey's 40th District, incumbent Republicans Christopher DePhillips and Kevin Rooney will face Democratic challengers Genevieve Allard and Nicole McNamara.
- Surrogate: Democrat Zoila Cassanova is running against Republican Aisha Mamkej.
- Board of County Commissioners: The race features three Democrats (Cassandra Lazzara, Assad Akhter and John Bartlett) and three Republicans (William E. Marsala, Nicolino Gallo and Lucy Aileen Rivera).
- Mayor: Republican incumbent Christopher P. Vergano is running against Democratic challenger Arlene Sullivan.
- Township Council: Three council-at-large positions are available. The Democratic ticket features Linda L. Nardone-Jeffrey, Catherine M. Pariser and James R. Freeswick. The Republican slate includes Jill Sasso, David Varano and Jason J. DeStefano.
- Wayne School District Board of Education: Eight candidates are running for three available positions: Michael Fattal, Haralampos Prassakos, Iveta Wentink, Chung Wallace, Eileen Albanese, Cynthia P. Simon, Matthew Giordano and Stacy Scher.
Where And How To Vote
Early voting: In-person, early voting in Passaic County runs from Oct. 23-31. The sites will operate from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.
The locations are:
- Clifton Public Library: 292 Piaget Ave.
- Haledon Recreation Center: 83 Roe St.
- Passaic Municipal Building: 330 Passaic St.
- Paterson Fire Department Headquarters: 300 McBride Ave.
- The Islamic Center, Passaic County: 152 Derrom Ave., Paterson
- PCCC Wanaque Campus: 500 Union Ave., Wanaque
- Wayne Main Library: 461 Valley Rd.
- West Milford Municipal Building: 1480 Union Valley Rd.
- West Paterson Boys and Girls Club: 8 Memorial Dr., Woodland Park
Mail-in ballots: A resident may apply for a mail-in ballot up to seven days before Election Day, of they can apply in-person at the County Clerk's Office until 3:00 p.m. the day before the election.
There are three ways to cast a mail-in ballot:
- In the mail: Your ballot must be postmarked on or before 8 p.m. Nov. 2 and be received by the Passaic County Board of Elections no later than six days later.
- Secure ballot dropbox: Place your vote-by-mail ballot in one of Passaic County's dropboxes by 8 p.m. Election Day. Wayne has two — the walkway to the front entrance of the Municipal Complex (475 Valley Rd.) and at William Paterson University's Lot 5 NJ Transit Bus Stop (300 Pompton Rd.). Find more locations here.
- Passaic County Board of Elections Office: Deliver your vote-by-mail ballot in-person at the office by 8 p.m. Nov. 2.
Vote in-person on Election Day: Residents may vote in-person at their assigned polling location from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Nov. 2. Specific polling locations will be listed on sample ballots, but can also be found here.
