Paterson, New Jersey, February 6, 2014- The Northern New Jersey operations team of Enterprise Holdings, the corporate parent of the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands, and Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the corporation’s philanthropic arm, assisted the Paterson community through various activities and a $2,500 sponsorship at Eva’s Soup Kitchen.
“We are honored to give back to the community through our work with Eva’s Village Soup Kitchen and their Workforce Development Program,” said John Mattone, Regional Vice President. “It’s important to remember the men and women who are in need of a nutritious meal and job assistance. Our participation, made possible through the dedication of our employees, created a wonderful experience and connection with the community. As always, we strive to make a positive difference for communities in which we live and work.”
Mr. Mattone presented a check to Eva’s Soup Kitchen this past January. He was joined by several of his employees, including Marilyn Gentile, Area Rental Manager and Jennifer Santiago, Regional Talent Acquisition Manager. All funds raised will benefit members of the community in need of food, shelter, medical and addiction assistance.

The Northern New Jersey team participated in the “Fund-A-Meal” event. While stocking and preparing food, the Northern New Jersey operations team interacted with employees of the soup kitchen, as well as community members in need. Throughout the Mock Job Fair by the Workforce Development Program, community members were taught job interviewing tips and skills.
“As 11.5% of New Jersey’s residents can not afford to eat, we hope our support to Eva’s Village Soup Kitchen will provide more meals and new job opportunities residents,” added Mr. Mattone.

About Eva’s Village Soup Kitchen
Originally a New Jersey soup kitchen, Eva's Village was founded in 1982 by Msgr. Vincent E. Puma in response to the increasing incidence of homeless in his Paterson, NJ parish. But Msgr. Puma soon realized that a soup kitchen was not enough. With the generous support of thousands of donors and private and government grants, Eva's has grown into the most respected anti-poverty program in New Jersey, with a four-star rating (maximum) rating by Charity Navigator, an independent non-profit monitor.
