Free Separation and Divorce Legal Workshop

Women  In Transition will present a free legal workshop on Monday, June 25, 2012 from6:30-8:30 pm on "Know Your Legal Rights in Divorce" facilitated by Passaic County attorney Scott Bocker. Open to all women who are interested in being educated about the legal and financial issues of separation and divorce, the workshop will take place at the Wayne Counseling Center at 1022 Hamburg Turnpike, Wayne. Pre-registration is required, by calling 973-694-9215 to register.

For over ten years, Mr. Bocker has helped hundreds of people throughout northern New Jersey find solutions to family law problems. He has served as a panelist for the Passaic Bergen and Essex Counties' Matrimonial Early Settlement Panels. The session will include learning how to anticipate costs and living expenses, knowing what to expect when you file for a divorce, what your legal rights and responsibilties are, and recent updates to family law, alimony, child support and equitable distribution of assets.

Women In Transition assists women who need to re-enter the workforce because they have lost their primary source of financial support due to separation, divorce, or the disability or death of a spouse. WIT is funded by the State of New Jersey, Division on Women, and offers vocational testing, job readiness classes, separation and divorce support groups and computer training at no cost to eligible women.

Wayne Counseling and Family Services provides counseling for drug and alcohol abuse and treatment for maritall, family, and mental health problems.
