Join Pristine Azul North Jersey Dive Club’s Monthly General Meeting on Wednesday, May 16 at 6:30 pm at Bahama Breeze, 101 Route 23 South, Wayne, NJ, which will feature speakers discussing diving in the Northeast.
Tropical locations with white sandy beaches and palm trees are not the only places to go diving. Many areas of the world have great diving in cold water. The waters in our own backyard offer historic wrecks and interesting marine life to keep even the most traveled diver from getting bored. At our May meeting, Larry Cohen, Olga Torrey, and Captain Rich Benevento will talk about the Northeast Diving Experience. They will show photos of some of the most intriguing wrecks off our coast and the marine life that call these structures home.
Larry Cohen, whose background is as a commercial and editorial photographer, has photographed everything from warm water coral reefs to wrecks under the ice of a frozen lake. His photos have appeared in Sport Diver, Scuba Diving, Alert Diver and other magazines. He teaches underwater photography for groups and individuals. Larry is a past president of the NYC Sea Gypsies and a founding member of The New York Underwater Photographic Society. He also crews on the New Jersey dive boat, the John Jack.
