Music of Irving Berlin

Classics from the Great American Songbook written or
co-written by renowned composer and lyricist Irving Berlin (1888-1989) will be played in a free public audio program at Temple Emanuel of North Jersey on Sunday afternoon, July 15, at 2 o’clock.  These songs, many of which are still heard today, were the heart of pre-rock American popular music, circa 1907 through the 1950s.  The program, originally broadcast by East Village Radio in 2009, features leading vocalists of the period including Tony Bennett, Rosemary Clooney, Ethel Waters, and Bing Crosby.  Light refreshments will be served.
