THE Y SUMMER CONCERT SERIES STARTS JULY 5 - BUY TICKETS NOW AND SAVE!

Our 2012 Summer Concert Series is filled with performers who’ve won numerous awards and travel the world with
 their music. You need only to take a short ride to the Y to enjoy their many talents!  All concerts start at 7:00 pm.

July 5: Jennifer Sheehan has won the Margaret Whiting Award, the Noel Coward Award, the Dorothy Louden Award, and the Julie Wilson Award for her exceptional talent.   She is the hottest performer to grace the NY cabaret scene and she returns to our Series by
 popular demand in her new show, "I Know a Place – A Tribute to the 60’s."            $10

 July 12: Darren Williams – Direct from Australia, with the rare ability to sing everything from pop to opera, Darren captivates audiences with his Aussie charm and amazing 4-octave range. Thus far, Darren has won 2 ACE awards (Australia Cabaret Entertainment) and 5 Mo Awards as Best Male Vocalist - Australia's top honors for excellence in live entertainment.        $10   

July 19: Stiletto & The Sax Man - This multi-talented duo delivers a great show!  Hear all of the favorites - doo wop, oldies and rat pack songs plus some light jazz, soft rock and current hits.  It’s music from the 40s through today!  Joey wails on the sax, trumpet, guitar and vocals.  Doreen wows with her voice, dancing and percussion. $10

July 26: Tre Novo Jazz Band performs a blend of Jazz, Funk and Blues and features the vocal mastery of Angela Workman, a Ray  Charles Raylette for 11 years. The Band has performed with many well-known recording artists such as Prince, Stevie Wonder, George Benson, and Rod Stewart.  $10

Aug 2: The Barynya Moscow Gypsy Dancers and Musicians is simply the premier Russian folk ensemble…outside of Russia! Barynya presents Russian, Cossack, Ukrainian, Jewish and Gypsy Roma traditional dancing, music, songs, and virtuoso performances on instruments include the balalaika, garmoshka (Russian folk button accordion), balalaika contrabass, bayan, Gypsy guitars, domra, and
 violin.        $10   

 Aug 9: That’s Amore: Jenna Esposito Sings Love, Italian Style in her tribute to the music of such great entertainers as Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Connie Francis, Dean Martin, and more. She’s perfomed at all the top NYC cabarets – Feinsteins, The Metropolitan
 Room, The Duplex, The Laurie Beechman, and Danny’s Skylight Room. Now, you can catch her at the Y!    $10   

 Aug 16: Naomi Miller and Janet Sosinsky in "Yiddish Is In My Genes" - with super title captions/translations and fun! Raised in a home where the Mama Lushon was the primary language, Naomi is determined to perpetuate a language that was almost lost in the Holocaust and is committed to its music and memories, its warmth, sadness, wit and joy. Be prepared to clap, hum, tup, remember and  ing along with Naomi.  $10

Aug 23:  The Metropolitan Klezmer Band  Aug 23:  The Metropolitan Klezmer Band  is "distinguished by just plain great, versatile ensemble playing... exuberant spirit and wit."  With influences that range from old school Arabic music to Latin jazz to Motown, Metropolitan Klezmer interprets Yiddish favorites with a mixture of tradition and irreverence. Praised by the UK’s Phat Planet as "brilliant and breathless," its music can be heard on several HBO documentaries, television shows and radio stations worldwide.  $10

PLUS An All You Can Eat Dairy/fish Buffet for $8.00 will be served at the Tel Aviv Café beginning at 5:30pm each Thursday prior to the concerts.
