Fire Risk Increased Tuesday In Wayne, Says National Weather Service
Dry conditions and warm weather mean an increased risk of fire spread in Wayne on Tuesday and possibly later this week, said forecasters.
WAYNE, NJ — Warm temperatures in Wayne today will combine with dry air and wind to make conditions more conducive to fire spread, said weather officials.
The National Weather Service put out a special weather statement for a number of northern NJ counties on Tuesday because of the risk of increased fire spread. The risk lasts from late Tuesday morning until early in the evening, said forecasters.
"Relative humidity is expected to decrease to 25 to 30 percent during this time, along with winds increasing to 15 to 20 mph with gusts up to 25 mph," said the NWS. "These conditions could aid fire spread if ignition occurs."
