Flash Flood Warning Issued For Passaic County

Breaking: Motorists are encouraged to turn around if they encounter floodwater.

WAYNE, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for central Passaic County.

The warning is in effect until 7 p.m.

Up to one inch of rain has already fallen and flash flooding is expected to begin soon, the National Weather Service said in its alert.

Flooding is forecast to occur in Pompton Lakes, Bloomingdale, Wanaque, and other areas.

The National Weather Service encourages motorists to not drive through floodwaters, but turn their vehicles around.
