Full-Day Kindergarten Advocates File Complaint, Allege Poll Worker Misconduct
Group says that poll workers told residents to vote against bringing full-day kindergarten to Wayne.

A group of 15 Wayne residents has filed a complaint in Pasasic County Superior Court alleging poll workers of misconduct involving the vote for bringing full-day kindergarten to Wayne.
The ballot question of whether Wayne should have raised $2.1 million in taxes to fund full-day kindergarten next school year was voted down 4,455 to 5,048 in November. Approving the measure would have meant a $65 increase in school taxes this year.
Several people reported alleged misconduct by poll workers.

Allison Tyler and Tracy Rozansky. two members of a grassroots group advocating bringing full-day kindergarten to Wayne, helped raise the $500 filing fee and get the 15 signatures needed to file the compliant. The complaint will allow court officials to investigate the reported misconduct, which was allegedly seen by several witnesses.
According to residents and town Clerk Paul Marigotta, a poll worker at John F. Kennedy Elementary School commented to voters about the full-day kindergarten vote. Another worker at George Washington Middle School allegedly gave ”their own commentary on how to vote or why they shouldn’t vote, Marigotta said.

“That unacceptable behavior and we’re not going to let it go,” Rozansky said in a Facebook post when the allegations were brought to light.
