Fun New Salon Caters To Kids
Kidz Kutz wants to make taking your kids to get a haircut an enjoyable experience. Kids can show up early and play games before sitting down to watch cartoons while getting a haircut.
A Wayne salon wants taking kids for a haircut to be fun.
The has opened Kids Kutz next door to its location on Hamburg Turnpike. The facility opened last month.
“We just thought that that kids should have a cool, fun place to come and get their hair done where they can feel comfortable,” said owner Joe Ciciclla. "There really isn't a place around here that just caters just to kids."

Kids can watch cartoons on high definition televisions while they sit in a chair that looks like a toy car or truck. When they’re done, they can scribble their name and when they were there on a chalkboard near the door.
Children can come in before their appointment. They can hang out and play with the toys before sitting down for their haircut. There is a separate play area in the back for girls. There are also games and toys available for young toddlers.

“We hear it so often from parents that their kids don’t like going for a haircut because they don’t like sitting still,” Ciciclla’s wife Tracy said. “If they hangout here they’re much more relaxed when they finally do have to go sit down for their haircut. And what kid doesn’t like watching television or sitting in a big toy for a chair?”
The salon will offer dress up parties in the play area too. Young girls can get their faces painted, get colored hair extensions, and have their hair and nails done.
The Loft Salon offers a variety of hair and nail treatments and services. The Soho-styled facility has a casual, laid-back feel to it with its bright lights and red brick walls. Stylists chat with customers while trimming their hair or giving a manicure.
“People like the laid-back feel we have and the small space so we wanted to give kids the same experience,” Ciciclla said. “We want to be a family-oriented place where everyone can come.”
