Greg Olsen Comes Home To Face Giants Sunday

Panthers tight end is nursing an injured knee, but he is expected to play.

Greg Olsen, a Wayne Hills alumnus, will face off against the New York Giants Sunday when his Carolina Panthers come to the Meadowlands and try to keep their record perfect.

Olsen has come into his own as a tight end the past few seasons with quarterback Cam Newton. Olsen is a focal point of the Panthers’ offense. He had 65 receptions and six touchdowns this year.

Olsen injured his knee during Carolina’s 38-0 thrashing of Atlanta Sunday. He is officially listed as questionable for the Giants’ game, but is expected to play.

Olsen, a finalist for the Gatorade National Player of the Year while at Hills. He played for the University of Miami and was selected in first round of the 2007 NFL draft. He was named a Pro-Bowler and team captain for the first time in his career last season.
