Fire Engulfs Wayne House, 1 Hospitalized For Smoke Inhalation

WAYNE, NJ — A fire engulfed a Camillo Drive home Thursday morning. One resident was hospitalized for smoke inhalation.

Crews were dispatched just after 8:15 a.m. Thursday to a house on Camillo Drive for a report of an explosion and house fire. Upon arrival, they saw heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors of the single-family home.

A quick and aggressive interior attack became a defensive operation, as fire moved through the roof and home, according to Wayne Fire Company #5. Fire Company 1 was added to the second alarm.

All occupants escaped before officials arrived.
