Wayne On NJ's Redrawn District Map: How It Will Impact Elections
Wayne is set to remain in the same district. Here's where things stand.

WAYNE, NJ — The New Jersey Legislative Apportionment Commission adopted a new legislative map for the Garden State, which will be in place beginning with the 2023 elections. Barring any further legal challenges, Wayne will remain in the 40th District.
The district has had fully Republican representation ever since the state went to a 40-district legislative map in 1973. State Senator Kristin Corrado and Assembly Members Kevin J. Rooney and Christopher DePhillips currently represent the district.
The map will remain in effect until a new map gets adopted before the 2031 elections. Officials delayed its adoption by a year because of the pandemic.
