At-Home Coronavirus Tests Availabe To Passaic County Residents

Residents of the county can sign up to receive a COVID-19 saliva test, which can be administered at home.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Passaic County residents can now register to take a COVID-19 saliva test in the comfort of their own home.

The Board of Chosen Freeholders, in partnership with Vault Medical Services of New Jersey and the Rutgers Clinical Genomics Laboratory, has announced that this testing, the first at-home model conducted by any local or county government in the state, is available through an announcement on the Passaic County website.

Residents can register for the test on the Passic County website. Once registered, the resident will receive instructions on how to request the test kit. The actual saliva test will be performed over a supervised Zoom call with a Vault healthcare provider.

“The only way to flatten the curve and reopen Passaic County and New Jersey’s economy is by increasing testing capacity for COVID-19,” said Freeholder Bruce James. “By offering free testing services to residents from the convenience of their home, Passaic County is leading the charge in New Jersey to enhance testing capacity and control the spread of COVID-19.”
