Hot Spot: North Jersey Town Sells Two $1M Mega Millions Winners in 5 Days

Clifton is the place to be for anyone looking to cash-in with New Jersey Lottery.

The next time you feel like trying to test the odds and win some big money in the New Jersey Lottery, taking a quick jaunt to Clifton may be your best bet.

The Passaic County town is now the center of the Mega Millions universe after selling $1 million winning tickets in two consecutive drawings, according to the New Jersey Lottery Commission.

On Friday, Oct. 31, two New Jersey stores sold $1 million tickets in the drawing which had a jackpot of $284 million. One of those stores was 7-11 on Main Avenue in Clifton, the other was Linden Discount Liquor on East Saint George Avenue in Linden.

The luck didn’t run out when the jackpot rolled to $321 million for Tuesday’s drawing, when another $1 million winning ticket was sold at Richfield Liquors on Clifton Avenue in Clifton. The Nov. 4 jackpot was hit and won on a ticket sold in New York.

According to the Mega Millions website, the odds of winning a $1 million prize is 18,492,204 to one.

The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Friday, Nov. 7 with a jackpot of $15 million.
