Letter: Candidates Will Not Insist Full-Day K Be In 2016-17 Budget If Voted Down
3 board of education candidates are responding to claims by outgoing trustee Robert Ceberio, the campaign manager for 3 other candidates.

Editor's note: The following letter to the editor is in response to this article.
We have not and do not believe in negative campaigning. Mr. Ceberio is attempting to poison the well. When this election is over, the new board will have to come together in January and work as a team for the benefit of the students and the taxpayers. Mr. Ceberio's comments are his own and while we wholeheartedly disagree with him, we just ask that it be disclosed that he has three horses in this race. He has signed the election filing D-2 form as chairperson and treasurer for three other candidates: Michael Bubba, Mitchell Badiner, and Eileen Domico.
In regard to the special question on full-day kindergarten, that issue will be voted on by the public. If it passes, it will be implemented in September 2017. If it fails, we will not insist it be in the budget for the 2016-17 school year.

Our campaign has been about the imbalance that currently exists on the Board of Education: 42% of the student population attend elementary schools, yet there are no elementary school parents on the Board.
As parents of elementary school students, we care about elementary, middle, and high school students. We care about academics and extracurricular activities because elementary school students today are middle school and high school students tomorrow.
