Man Forced His Way Into Wayne Home, Assaulted Teenager: Police
The 15-year-old boy was able to fight off the man, police said.
Wayne police are looking for a man who allegedly forced his way into a house and assaulted a 15-year-old boy.
The alleged assault occurred at about 1:40 p.m. Aug. 18 when the teenager heard a knock at the door and opened it, said Capt. Mark McGrath. The home is located in the Point View section of Wayne near the intersection of Valley Road and Berdan Avenue.
An adult male allegedly forced his way into the home, McGrath said; the boy told police that he does not know the man.

“The boy looked out and thought the man was a service professional and that’s why he opened the door,” McGrath said.
The teeanger was able to fight the man off of him. The man fled the area in a tan or beige Chevy Silverado with an extended cab.

The man was wearing a red polo shirt with khaki pants. He is described as white, between 40 and 50 years old, between 6 and 6 feet 3 inches tall, with salt-and-pepper hair, and a trimmed beard.
New Jersey State Police released a sketch of the alleged assailant.
