MHCA Junior at Rutgers Business School

20 local high school juniors get accepted to Rutgers Business School

We are proud to announce that Jennifer Mora-Amaya, a junior at Mary Help of Christians Academy, North Haledon, has been accepted to the Pre-College Enrichment Program (PREP) at Rutgers Business School (RBS). Every Saturday for the next 15 weeks, Jennifer will be taking a Management Skills course with 19 other high school juniors and current RBS students as well.

In addition to taking a college course, the high school students will be paired with a current RBS tutor/mentor for enrichment sessions. “During these sessions the tutor/mentors will review class assignments, notes, and work to help answer any questions [students] may have. The enrichment sessions will conclude each week with scheduled guest speakers and/or activities meant to highlight and expose participants to student life at Rutgers, RBS, careers in business, life skills and issues surrounding diversity.” Once the RBS-PREP program has been successfully completed, the high school students will earn 3 college credits toward their undergraduate degree if they are admitted to RBS.

Jennifer is looking forward to learning a lot from this opportunity and although she hasn’t decided on what she wants to concentrate on in college, she does plan to graduate with a business career, perhaps in Management Information Systems.
