Monarch Diner On Rt. 23 In Wayne Is Closed

Sisters Tina and Pauline Diakos opened the diner in the spring of 2012.

WAYNE, NJ — The Monarch Diner on Route 23 South has closed.

The diner is empty and a for sale sign has been placed on the front of the property.

Sisters Tina and Pauline Diakos opened the diner in the spring of 2012. Their relatives own The Pilgrim Diner in Cedar Grove and the Fairmont Diner in Clifton, but they could not replicate that success in Wayne. The diner was under new managment at one point.

A for sale sign has been put up on the property. A gun range is going next door where the former Fuddruckers restaurant was.
