New Cannabis Retailer Approved In Passaic County
A local township council approved Ascend New Jersey's application for a retail license, paving the way for another cannabis retailer.
LITTLE FALLS, NJ — Another Passaic County community has approved a legal cannabis retail license, as an established company seeks to expand its retail stores in North Jersey.
The Little Falls township council approved Ascend New Jersey, LLC's application for a local cannabis establishment license at last Monday's meeting. Ascend has three other medical and recreational marijuana retailers in Fort Lee, Montclair and Rochelle Park.
Next, Ascend will have to get site plan approval from the Little Falls Planning Board; a location for the future retail store has not yet been decided.

This would be the third legal cannabis retailer in Passaic County, joining RISE in Paterson and Molly Ann Farms in Haledon.
As for Wayne Township, the council voted in April 2021 to ban recreational weed businesses from operating within the township, as Patch reported.
