NJ 40th District Election 2023: See Latest Vote Tally
See if Republicans maintained their state legislature seats in the 40th district, as New Jerseyans headed to the polls on Tuesday.

NORTH JERSEY —Unofficial results show that Republicans maintain their seats in New Jersey's 40th district after Tuesday night's election.
The 40th district includes parts of Bergen County (Franklin Lakes, Ridgewood and Wyckoff), Essex County (Caldwell, Essex Fells, Fairfield, North Caldwell, Verona and West Caldwell), and Passaic County (Hawthorne, Little Falls, Totowa, Wayne and Woodland Park).

Republican Senator Kristin Corrado (Totowa) and GOP assembly members Kevin Rooney and Christopher DePhillips, both of Wyckoff, are the current representatives in this district. Rooney announced his retirement last November, and former Essex County Republican Party Chair Al Barlas took his spot in the ticket.
The Democratic Party put forward Hawthorne school board member Jennifer Ehrentraut for the Senate seat, and then small business owner Jennifer Marrinan of Wyckoff, and Woodland Park Schools director of special education Giovanna Irizarry as Assembly candidates.

Voting results are tabulated from all three counties and reported by the Associated Press.

- Kristin M. Corrado (R-incumbent): 21,672
- Jennifer Ehrentraut (D): 14,778
Member of the State Assembly, 40th district (vote for two)
- Christopher P. DePhillips (R-incumbent): 20,955
- Giovanna Irizarry (D): 20,390
- Al Barlas (R): 15,026
- Jennifer Marrinan (D): 15,140
