See Wayne Township Schools' Latest Niche Grades In 2024 Rankings

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Township maintains its high grade in the latest Niche.com school rankings released this week, with the district's aging facilities again earning the lowest mark.
These rankings and grades, published annually for the past nine years, compare schools and districts across the United States by combining honest feedback from parents and students with hard data on schools, teachers, and student performance.
Wayne Township Public School District, which serves 7,589 students, has an overall "A" grade from Niche again this year. The highest mark (A+) is in sports.

Wayne Township also has an "A" grade in academics, teachers, college prep, and administration, and an "A-" in clubs and activities. The food got a "B+" rating, with diversity as a "B."
And the lowest grade was a C+ in resources and facilities. School officials have spoken of the need to make upgrades around the district to better serve students and teachers, and keep Wayne competitive. The district is planning fora referendum next March to fund critical improvements around the district.

Niche ranks schools and districts in a number of other categories — Wayne Township was named the best district for student-athletes in the state in 2024. Wayne was also named the best school district in Passaic County, Niche said.
Both Wayne high schools got an "A" grade, with the middle schools each getting an "A-." Elementary school grades ranged from "A" to "B."

- George Washington Middle School: 114 out of 756 (grade: A-)
- Anthony Wayne Middle School: 120 out of 756 (grade: A-)
- Schuyler Colfax Middle School: 129 out of 756 (grade: A-)
Best public elementary schools in New Jersey:
- Albert P. Terhune Elementary School: 226 out of 1,426 (grade: A)
- John F. Kennedy Elementary School: 340 out of 1,426 (grade: A-)
- Randall Carter School: 344 out of 1,426 (grade: A-)
- Packanack Elementary School: 361 out of 1,426 (grade: A-)
- Pines Lake Elementary School: 392 out of 1,426 (grade: A-)
