Dunkin' Donuts Owner Struck, Killed In His Own NJ Drive-Thru
The owner was struck in his own drive-thru by a van, authorities said.

A New Jersey Dunkin' Donuts owner was struck and killed Thursday in his own drive-thru, according to authorities.
Jose Furtado, 65, of Haledon suffered serious injuries in the collision and was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson where he was pronounced dead at 7:46 p.m., according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. News12 reported that he was the owner of the franchise.
The accident happened at approximately 7:02 p.m. when police responded to the Dunkin' Donuts located at the intersection of Route 20 and East 33rd Street in Paterson, according to the PCPO.

Upon their arrival at the scene, it was discovered that there was a single vehicle accident involving a 1999 GMC Savana Van and a pedestrian on the Dunkin Donuts property.
The driver of the van, a 59-year-old man from Paterson, and the only other passenger, a 15-year-old male also from Paterson, were not injured in the accident, according to the PCPO.

No criminal charges have been filed at this time. However, the investigation remains active and
ongoing. More Information will be released once it becomes available.
