Cordero evaded the law and was eventually placed on the New Jersey State Police Most Wanted List in May 2025.

Through investigative efforts, Cordero was found hiding at an East Mosholu Parkway home in the Bronx, New York, on March 24 and arrested, officials said.

He is charged with first-degree murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.
