No New Coronavirus Cases Reported Over July 4th Weekend In Wayne
Mayor Christopher Vergano reported no new coronavirus cases from the July 3-July 6 report, though Passaic County has 16 new positives.
WAYNE, NJ — The New Jersey Department of Health reports 16 new cases of the coronavirus in Passaic County as of 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
County totals now stand at 1,057 confirmed deaths, 16,978 positive test results and 147 probable deaths.
In Wayne Township, 185 residents have died from the coronavirus since the beginning of the pandemic, and the NJDOH reports 1,477 postive coronavirus cases as of 10:37 a.m. on July 6.

None of those cases, however, were from the July 4 weekend report, which included the days from July 3 to July 6, according to Mayor Christopher Vergano.
Outbreaks of the coronavirus have been reported at 25 long-term care facilities in Passaic County, resulting in 1,298 resident cases, 760 staff cases, 390 resident deaths and 15 staff deaths, according to the NJDOH.

Mobile testing will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at these locations for the rest of July.
- July 10 — Pompton Lakes High School, 44 Lakeside Ave.
- July 13 — Paterson Catholic High School, 764 11th Ave.
- July 15 — Passaic County Community College, 500 Union Ave., Wanaque
- July 17 — School No. 27, 250 Richmond Ave., Paterson
- July 20 — School No. 11, 350 Market St., Paterson
To receive a test, you must have an I.D., be a Passaic County resident and bring a phone or tablet. Do not eat, drink, chew gum or smoke within 30 minutes of your test.
Health insurance is not required.
