North Jersey Hot Dog Named No. 1 In The USA

The best hot dogs in the country are right here in North Jersey, according to one well-known food website.

The Daily Meal named the famous "rippers" at Rutt's Hutt in Clifton the best hot dogs in the United States. The food and drink website released its list of the 75 Best Hot Dogs for 2017 recently.

"The fact that this roadside shack has not only a counter to end all counters amid its stand-up dining room, but also an adjoining tap room where you can drink cheap beer and chat with old-timers and fellow pilgrims, propels Rutt’s Hut to legendary status," The Daily Meal said of Rutt's Hut.

The website said that no matter how you like your hot dog cooked, get it "all the way," with mustard and onion-and-cabbage relish.

• Maui's Dog, Wildwood
• Max's Famous Hot Dogs, Long Branch
• Tommy's, Elizabeth
• Jimmy Buff's Italian Hot Dogs, West Orange
