Paterson Police Help Arrest Man In Machete Murder Of Boy, 15
Breaking: Kevin J. Alvarez, 19, was charged with murder, manslaughter, and assault in the death of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman, police said.
Paterson Police assisted with a murder investigation that led to the arrest of a teenager after a 15-year-old boy was hacked to death by a machete in the Bronx.
Kevin J. Alvarez, 19, was arrested after Paterson police officers got a tip regarding the murder of Lesandro "Junior" Guzman-Feliz at about 1:45 p.m. Sunday in Bronx, New York, a New York City Police Department spokesman confirmed.
Police went to the East 24th Street Paterson house where several people connected to the attack were, the spokesman confirmed. Alvarez was arrested and four other people were taken into custody.

No other charges have been filed in the case, the spokesman said.
Guzman-Feliz was stabbed to death with a machete after he was taken out of a bodega at East 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue following a disagreement with a group of males, police confirmed.

One Twitter user who knew Guzman-Feliz said he was a "good kid," who was "sweet," "polite," and had a "calm demeanor."
According to PIX11, a member of the Trinitarios gang was angry because a relative appeared in a sex video and thought Guzman-Feliz was in the video as well.
People screamed at Alvarez as police led him away in handcuffs after he was charged.
New York City Police received "torrent of tips" in relation to their efforts to identifying Guzman-Feliz's killers, Chief of Detectives Dermont F. Shea told The New York Times Sunday.
Shea told The New York Times that Lesandro was "anything but an innocent kid," and wanted to be a police detective.
Shea posted pictures of men wanted in connection with Guzman-Feliz's murder on social media. He posted several times about the investigation recently. The story went viral on social media with the hashtag #Justiceforjunior.
"He was never going to give up on his dream of being an NYPD detective and we'll never give up on him," Shea said on Twitter following the murder.
Guzman-Feliz's family set up a GoFundMe page to help with funeral costs. More than $154,000 was donated as of Monday morning.
