Pair Threw Rocks At Worshippers In Passaic Co. Mosque: Prosecutor

Authorities are conducting a bias investigation into the report of an assault, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

PATERSON, NJ — Authorities are conducting a bias investigation into the report of an assault at a Paterson mosque, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.

Law enforcement responded to the reported assault just before 9 p.m. Monday at a mosque around Preakness Avenue and Hill Street, authorities said. The responding officers were told that two people entered the facility during a prayer service and threw rocks toward worshippers, the prosecutor's office said.

No one was struck during the incident, and nobody reported injuries, authorities said.

The prosecutor's office didn't provide any other suspect information but promised more information once it become available. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
