Passaic Co. Gunman Shot, Robbed Victim In South Jersey

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — A Passaic County man faces years in prison after admitting to shooting and robbing a man in South Jersey years ago, officials say.

Christopher Miller, 38, of Paterson, pleaded guilty to robbery charges on Monday linked to a September 2023 incident in Ocean County.

On Sept. 9, 2023, police were called to the area of East Hudson Drive in Little Egg Harbor on reports of shots fired.

Authorities discovered a 36-year-old man with several gunshot wounds and rushed him to a hospital. He was treated for nonfatal wounds and later released.

Investigators determined that the victim had been visiting Miller, along with his accomplice Marc Manfredonia, 34, of Little Egg Harbor, at the East Hudson Drive home where the duo was staying.

The pair soon forcibly removed the victim from the home before Miller pointed a handgun at him and demanded he digitally transfer money to him via a mobile cash application.

The victim sent the money, but when the pair demanded he send more, he refused, and a fight ensued.

Miller ended up shooting the victim four times in the groin, leg, and ear. The pair continued to beat the victim before running back to their East Hudson Drive home. The victim ran to a nearby house and called the police.

The pair was arrested and charged with robbery. Manfredonia pleaded guilty and was sentenced to ten years in prison.

Miller also faces ten years in prison for the single robbery charge and is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 21.
