Police Investigate Threat At Passaic Co. High School
A high school student was overheard talking about the mass school shooting in Parkland, Florida.

PASSAIC COUNTY, NJ — Authorities investigated a possible threat to a local high school last month.
The Clifton Police Department received an anonymous tip Feb. 15 regarding a potential threat to the high school, saidPassaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes announced Thursday.
According to the tip, a high school student was overheard speaking about the recent school shooting in Parkland, Florida, Valdes said.

Clifton School District officials and Clifton High School administrators were immediately notified.
Clifton detectives subsequently met with the student and the student's parent. Detectives found no firearms in the family's home and no firearms were registered to any family members living there, Valdes said.

The Clifton Police Department concluded that there was "no credible threat" to the school based on their investigation.
There were a number of threats to New Jersey high schools Thursday.
A 10-year-old boy was arrested in connection with a shooting threat, police said.
The boy was arrested after he allegedly made a school-shooting threat that compelled two school districts in South Jersey to close, police said. The Franklin Township School District and the Delsea Regional School District in Gloucester County closed on Thursday because of a "potentially threatening email" that was received by a Franklin teacher, officials said.
Stockton University temporarily had a shelter-in-place after receiving a report that shots were fired.
Lodi High School in Bergen County was on lockdown after a message was reportedly found inside the school.
Cumberland County College temporarily locked down around 11 a.m. because of reports of an intruder.
Two schools in Galloway Township also dealt with threats after police investigated reports of shots fired in the area, officials said.
Galloway Township police ultimately arrested a man on Thursday and charged him with firing shots near the Pilgrim Academy, which led to the schools being placed on lockdown, Detective Lt. Joseph Picard said.
