Police: Kohl's Employee Dragged 100 Feet During Robbery
Two people were arrested on robbery, shoplifting and drug charges following the Monday evening incident at Kohl's on Route 23.
A store security guard was dragged more than 100 feet while trying to stop a man from stealing $2,000 worth of items from Kohl’s on Monday, police said.
Two people were arrested on robbery, shoplifting and drug charges following the incident, which began at 7 p.m. at the Kohl’s on Route 23 North.
Wayne Police said they responded to a call that someone was stealing from the store. When they arrived, a store security guard told police she saw a man, later identified as Sean McCarthy, enter the store and retrieve a “large” bag of items that he previously hid in the store, according to police.

As McCarthy tried to leave with the bag, the security guard tried to stop him but he got into a station wagon, according to police.
A woman driving the getaway car, later identified as Nicole Foxx, 35, drove from the store, dragging the security guard with them for more than 100 feet, according to authorities.

Police put out an alert on the station wagon and an officer stopped the car near Fairfield Road, police said.
The bag with the missing items, including speakers, headphones, perfume, clothing, women’s pants, earrings, and jewelry, was found in the car along with two bags of suspected heroin stamped with FLY, another small bag with suspected crack, three needles, and a broken crack pipe, according to police.
McCarthy, a Hewitt resident, and Foxx, of Paterson, were taken to Wayne Police Headquarters and charged. Bail was set at $100,000 with no 10 percent option.
McCarthy and Foxx were not able to post bail and were remanded to the Passaic County Jail.
McCarthy, 48, was charged with forced strongarm robbery, shoplifting more than $200 worth of merchandise, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Foxx was charged with forced strongarm robbery, shoplifting more than $200 worth of merchandise, possession of cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia, and issued a motor vehicle summons for possession of narcotics in the motor vehicle.
