There's still more than a week until Christmas. But it's not too early to make a plan for getting rid of the tree after the holidays.

WAYNE, NJ — It may not reflect much holiday spirit to think about getting rid of the Christmas tree when Dec. 25 is more than a week away. But Wayne residents can still make a plan so they know how long they can keep it shining before curbside disposal ends.

The township will begin curbside Christmas tree collection Jan. 9. Township trucks will collect them weekly through Feb. 10.

Remove all lights, garlands, ornaments, stands, tree bags and any other objects from the tree before placing it curbside. Wreaths and garlands should go in the trash.
