Preakness Healthcare Center Gives Updated Coronavirus Totals
215 of Preakness' 301 residents have tested negative for the coronavirus.
WAYNE, NJ — Preakness Healthcare Center announced updated coronavirus numbers in a Monday, May 11 news release.
The facility currently has 301 residents and 529 staff members. Since March 25, according to the release, 102 residents have tested positive for coronavirus. Eleven of those residents have now tested negative, but 18 have died.
An additional deceased resident was not tested, but was presumed positive, according to the release. Of the 301 residents, 215 have tested negative.

Seventy staff members have tested positive, and 159 have tested negative. Staff members can choose to be tested on Friday, May 15.

Preakness shared in the letter that the facility had a different Mother's Day celebration that usual. All women residents were presented with a rose and all women staff members with a carnation.
Usually, Preakness celebrates with large resident and family gatherings. The letter says that these missed holiday dinners will be rescheduled.
