Principal Could be District's Secondary Education Director

The Board of Education is slated to approve Anthony Wayne Middle School Principal Michael Ben-David as the district's interim director of secondary education.

The board will vote on the move at a meeting Thursday.

If approved, Ben-David would fill Cathy Labate’s role on an interim basis until Jan. 1 when the appointment would become permanent.

Ben-David’s salary would be prorated at $143,000. He earned his doctorate in education from the College of Saint Elizabeth. Labate’s annual salary was $155,000.
