Progress In Wayne's October COVID Cases, Booster Shots Available

WAYNE, NJ — Wayne Township saw some progress in terms of new coronavirus cases. The town reported 143 new infections in October — less than half of the 294 tallied in September.

October's new cases reflect the township's lowest total since July, when officials reported 138 new cases. But Wayne still has a ways to go before reaching its pandemic low of 13 new cases counted in June.

The Wayne Health Department also has booster vaccines available — along with first, second and third doses of the Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson shots.

The township administers vaccines on Wednesdays only. Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are preferred. If you're receiving a second, third or booster vaccination, bring your CDC vaccine card.

The New Jersey Department of Health reported the following in Wayne Township are fully vaccinated against COVID-19: 65 percent of all ages, 43 percent of ages 12-17, 74 percent of people 12 and older, 77 percent of adults, 80 percent of people 30 and older and 84 percent of seniors.
