PTO Thrift Store Raises Record Scholarship Funds

Students at Wayne Valley and Wayne Hills received scholarships this week

There is much cause for celebration at the Wayne PTO's local thrift shop as it ends its 59th year in operation. The store raised a record number of scholarship funds this year, exceeding their previous goals.

The Browse N Shop has been a community staple at the Civic Center and is a favorite place to donate, shop or just make new friends. Popular items always include clothing, books and toys.

"We have plenty of grandparents, aunts, uncles and even cousins who shop in our store." says manager Anny A. Cameron. "They want to make their homes a fun place for younger guests without spending a fortune on toys which will not receive daily use."

Another group which loves the store are scrapbookers, diy'ers and creative folk. "We have a large collection of hammered aluminum which students at a local school have been painting as gifts. Earlier in the year kindergarteners bought foam letters to decorate before the holidays. I am constantly amazed by how people repurpose our items," says Cameron.

Whether you are planning a party (they have a large box of new .25 party supplies), shopping for your latest trip or just need a new read make sure to drop by the Browse N Shop!
