QuickChek Opens On Rt. 23 In Wayne

The 24-hour store is geared for millennials with its custom-order food options and phone and laptop charging stations.

WAYNE, NJ — The township's third QuickChek store opened on Route 23 North Wednesday. It will serve locally-roasted coffee and generate $1 million in much-needed tax revenue.

The store will give back to the community. QuickChek will donate $.25 cents for every sub, sandwich and wrap sold through Dec. 6 to the Wayne River Cats Little League team.

The 24-hour store was designed with millennials in mind. Customers can create made-to-order breakfast items, sub sandwiches, wraps and salads.

The store also features coffee roasted by Regal Commodities in Totowa. Locally roasting the coffee allows QuickChek to create small-batch, seasonal flavors like Caramel Pumpkin Pie and Kris Kringle. The store also sells iced and cold brew coffees, lattes, espressos and macchiatos.

The store also has self-checkout lanes, 16 gas station pumps, outdoor seating, 68 parking spaces, including four for campers and trailers.

The store employs 50 people, including eight managers. It is the fourth QuickChek location to open in the past 10 weeks.

“We feel this new design provides a better showcase for our high-quality, great tasting fresh food and beverage menu items throughout our new stores as we continue to meet the ever-changing shopping and dining habits of today’s consumer,” QuickChek Chief Executive Officer Dean Durling said in a statement.
