Residents Can Learn How to Scuba Dive at the YMCA

Two-day long classes to be held once a month until November.

Scuba diving classes will be held at the in the next several months.

The two-day long classes are the first step in becoming a certified diver by the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).

The classes include a series of engaging classroom presentations and pool dives using state-of-the-art equipment.

Classes will be held on the following weekends: May 19 and 20, June 9 and 10, July 14 and 15, Aug. 11 and 12, Sept. 8 and 9, Oct. 13 and 14, and Nov. 10 and 11. Classes are held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Each two-day class costs $245 or $295, depending on the level of enrollment with the YMCA. All participants must also purchase a course materials pack for $55.

The course is for children and adults 12 years old and older.
