Resident Successfully Lobbies For Greater Transparency With Wayne Council
Jim Freeswick requested that more ordinances and resolutions be placed online.
WAYNE, NJ — A resident has successfully lobbied for greater transparency regarding documents that appear online.
James Freeswick asked officials to place resolutions and ordinances that had been introduced, after being read at a Council meeting, and those that were adopted by the governing body.
Freeswick proposed township Clerk Paul Margiotta place ordinances and resolutions that officials are considering for approval along with bills that are due.

"I think it is an excellent new policy. I'm happy I was successful in getting it instituted," Freeswick said, noting that three council persons, Lonni Miller Ryan, Joe Schweighardt and Jonathan Ettman expressed support of his idea when he first mentioned it.
"[It] will make Wayne municipal government more transparent and which will help the citizens of Wayne to better participate in Wayne municipal government," Freeswick said.
