WAYNE, NJ — Area activists are organizing a "Save Our Mail! Save Our Votes!" rally for Wayne Township on Friday.

According to an event posting from BlueWaveNJ, the Wayne rally, and others across the state, are in support of the United States Postal Service, as well as vote-by-mail initiatives surrounding the 2020 election.

In a recent Fox Business interview, President Donald Trump told Maria Bartiromo that he would block additional funds for the USPS and election funding, resulting in swift condemnation from officials and politicians across the country.

"Donald Trump’s attacks and defunding of the postal system are a direct threat to the right to vote and the integrity of the election and even now are delaying Americans from getting the medicine and mail they need," read the event description. "We must act now to stop this attack and protect our election process."
