Smoking Restrictions To Include Vaping, Weed At Wayne Outdoor Cafes

Smoking of any kind will be prevented at outdoor cafés in the township, from cannabis vapes to cigarettes to hookah products.

WAYNE, NJ — Diners at outdoor cafés in Wayne will no longer have to worry about secondhand smoke from other guests. New legislation bans any kind of smoking where people are eating in the township, whether it’s inside or at one of the establishments that has extended dining outdoors.

This includes electronic vapes, cigars, hookah, and cannabis. Township Council passed the ordinance at their most recent meeting, and it goes into effect July 12.

The legislation adds a section to the township code regulations on outdoor cafés, bringing the smoking regulations for outdoor eateries in line with ones indoors.
