St. Joseph's Staff In Wayne, Paterson On Why They Were Vaccinated
In photos posted to Facebook, staff at the Wayne and Paterson hospitals shared why they decided to get the coronavirus vaccine.
WAYNE, NJ — When Acieta Small became the first St. Joseph's Wayne Medical Center employee to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, she had a message to share about why.
"I got the shot because I care," read a sign, held by Small, posted to social media.
In a collection of photos, St. Joseph's Health, which operates hospitals in Wayne and Paterson, shared why their employees chose to take the vaccine.

Among those vaccinated were Small, Chief Medical Officer Joseph Duffy, and a number of other employees.
Not only does the vaccine provide hope for medical workers, but Duffy said it should be viewed positively by everyone.

"This vaccine is a sign of hope to all of us. We are ready to defeat this virus,” he said.

The vaccine comes as coronavirus cases are on the rise in Wayne Township, already eclipsing the total for the entire month of November.
