Students Honored for Academic Achievement
Students named semi-finalists, commended students in National Merit Scholarship Program.
Several high school students were honored at a Board of Education meeting Thursday.
Approximately 16,000 students were named semifinalists year. About half of them will earn part of the $32 million in scholarships available. Students earn the chance for a scholarship based how they scored on the 2012 Preliminary SAT.
Less than one percent of high school seniors are named semifinalists.
