Toys "R" Us Commits $100K To Scholarships At William Paterson University

Wayne-based company will be honored with the 2017 Distinguished Corporation Award from the college this month.

WAYNE, NJ — Toys "R" Us has pledged $100,000 to William Paterson University for student scholarships, the school announced Wednesday.

Wayne-based Toys "R" Us is the world's leading toy retailer. The Toys "R" Us Children's Fund has donated more than $130 million to a variety of child-related philanthropic causes, including St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and Toys For Tots.

The university did not specify what scholarships the $100,000 would fund.

“Scholarship support can be transformative for students,” said university President Kathleen Waldron “Toys“R”Us has been a wonderful corporate partner to the University and our students and alumni, and we thank them for their continued generous support.”

Toys "R" Us will be presented with the 2017 Distinguished Organization Award at the University Foundation's 27th annual Legacy Award Gala April 20.
