WAYNE, NJ — The township got to hear from a number of candidates for public office earlier this week, including Mayor Christopher Vergano and mayoral candidate Arlene Sullivan.
Residents also got to hear from all six of the township council members who will appear on their ballot this year during a candidate forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Wayne Township, which took place on Wednesday.
Another forum is scheduled next Wednesday, Sept. 29, for 40th District Senate and Assembly candidates, as well as candidates for Passaic County Commissioner and Passaic County Surrogate.

Three council seats are also up for grabs in 2021, with six candidates in the running. They are:

- Jason DeStefano, R
- Linda Nardone-Jeffrey, D
- Catherine Pariser, D
- James Freeswick, D
