Wayne-Based Toys "R" Us Earns Spot On Fortune 500 List

The company employs 62,000. It is the 22nd consecutive year it has been listed on the Forbes 500 list.

WAYNE, N.J. — Toys "R" Us was named to Fortune Magazine's exclusive 500 list for the 2015 fiscal year.

It is the 22nd consecutive year the Wayne-based company has been on the list.

The company employs 62,000 and operates more than 1,100 Toys "R" Us and Babies "R" Us stores globally.

The company was ranked 240, up five spots from last year's rank of 240. The company earned its highest ranking of 131 on Fortune's list in 1996.

The company had a revenue of $11 billion last fiscal year, a 4.5 percent drop from last fiscal year, a $130 million decrease in profits, and nearly $7 billion in assets.

Nineteen New Jersey companies made the list, including four in the top 75. New Brunswick-based Johnson & Johnson came in 39th overall, boasting a $70-billion year in 2015.
