Wayne Boy, 10, Wins Elk's Basketball Contest Regionals, Headed To National Championship

The fifth grader will compete with 11 other finalists from across the country in this year's championship.

WAYNE, NJ — Dylan Bogdanski, a fifth-grader from Wayne Township, is on another hot streak with the Elk's 'Hoop Shoot' contest, beating state champs from New York and Pennsylvania in its recent regional tournament.

Now, the 10-year-old is headed to the National Championship in April, where he'll face off against 11 finalists from across the country.

Dylan's most recent victory comes on the heels of a three-peat NJ Elks Hoop Shoot state championship winning streak.

The Hoop Shoot is a free-throw program for boys and girls ages eight through 13, which has been “unleashing gritty kids” for more than 50 years. Dylan made it to the national championship after winning at the local, district, state, and regional levels.

The Hoop Shoot National Championship is on April 18 in Chicago.
