Wayne Council Is Silent On Trump, Christie
One resident says council members only support interests that can help them get re-elected.

To the editor:
It's often said that people get the government they deserve. On all levels our government is letting us down.
Last fall the Wayne Town Council was publicly asked twice if they supported Trump. Their answer was complete silence. That from a group that spends endless time complimenting each other on their local TV broadcasts.

This past fall they jumped at the chance to support Governor Christie and his educational funding plan, which was so bad that he had to withdraw it. By the way, unlike many other states where the governor is not permitted to appear in promotional ads, we in New Jersey are paying for his commercials for the drug program. I've seen ads and they are nothing more than a self personal promotional commercial. Remember, "Jersey Strong?"
So how does that sit with you? And still not a word from our Republican Town Council. The blame is on all levels of government, from our silence council to our uncaring governor and congressman.

We, the people, deserve support from all of our elected officials, not silence. These are the people who are supposed to protect our interests. Obviously the only interests they support of their own for re-election. This is what happens when the voters choose party before country and the people.
