Wayne Crash Kills Staten Island Man

No other vehicles were involved in the crash that killed a 28-year-old man.

WAYNE, NJ — A crash killed a Staten Island man Monday night in Wayne. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office identified the victim as Jorge Jaimez Romero, 28.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The cause of death is unknown, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police responded to the crash just after 8 p.m. Monday at Valley and Ratzer Roads. Authorities determined that Romero's 2006 Dodge Caravan veered off the road and struck a utility pole. The collision caused the vehicle to spin and hit a second pole.

Romero was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:26 p.m.
